How did it start?

RailCycle Mt. Rainier was born out of the desire of the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad management team to open up the backcountry to people of all backgrounds and skills while minimizing the impact on fragile ecosystems. While the traditional steam trains have been a popular way to achieve this goal, RailCycles offer a more intimate interaction with nature, providing unobstructed panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment while also allowing riders to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about the hazards of hiking. The RailCycle experience combines adventure and relaxation, providing a unique way to explore the beautiful wilderness of the Mt. Rainier foothills.
